Christmas



We wanted to share a few words with you about what this day means to us. As you know Christmas came about to celebrate the birth of Jesus. But what does that really mean? And more importantly, why should you or I care about what happened 2000 years ago? Every other religion has a prescription of works and actions to follow. In effect, man is working to attain the favor of the god or deity of that faith. But what makes Christmas so special is that God came down to our level. Even his name, Emmanuel, means God is with us. Jesus came to be with us so we could have a relationship with God. No works, no deeds, no acting religious, just a simple child-like faith is all it takes. This grand event that split history into A.D. and B.C. is still small enough to be significant for me and you.
