Rome

There's an old saying that says, "Rome wasn't built in a day so shouldn't try to see it in a day." Well, it's true but we tried it anyway. After 11 days of walking Italy, our feet revolted and didn't handle day 12 of walking very well. However, we saw many beautiful and old sights. The ruins and coloseum are pretty amazing, and to think that these things were all built soooooo many years ago is quite mind boggling. One pleasant surprise was running into the pope, well kind of. We went to see the Sistine Chapel, but decided the line was too long and that we'd come back later. So, we went to Saint Peter's square first and just happened upon thousands and thousands of people listening and watching the pope. It was an unexpected surprise.

It's not a very close photo because we grew weary of toting the big lens around everywhere. Just when we needed it too!

THIS is the lens we needed...

This guy was reading a book on the Top 10 things to do in Rome. Apparently there are actually 11.
