Tuscany

We rented a car and went south into the country. The general area around Florence is Tuscany. Along the way, we took the smallest roads possible to find some out of the way sites. We first drove through a smaller region in Tuscany, Chianti, known for its distinctive wine. We stayed one night in a tiny walled city called Monteriggioni. It was about 5 acres in size and was used by the Sienese to look out for the attacking Florenians. We escaped unscathed! The next day, we drove into the Montalcino area know for it's Brunello wines (Mmmmmmmm). We stayed in a incredible castle with a 360 degree view. It was amazing! We were able to see a beautiful sunrise and sunset. From here we drove back to Florence to catch a train to Rome. We leave for the states tomorrow. Ciao!
